Transport Planner
Roughan & O’Donovan (ROD) is looking to recruit a transport planner with two to five years' postgraduate experience for a permanent position within our expanding team.

About the role
Working in support of a multidisciplinary team, you will gain valuable experience assessing projects across a range of sectors, including transportation and infrastructure development.

Cork Area Commuter Rail
National Transport Authority's Active Travel Support Office
Responsibilities
Modelling of anticipated transportation impacts of projects using Saturn, Linsig and other industry-standard software
Appraisal of transportation and economic impacts of transportation and other infrastructure projects
Financial modelling and appraisal
Documentation of modelling outputs and preparation of appraisal reports
Preparation of supporting documentation for feasibility studies and planning applications
Preparation of inputs for Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs)
Liaison with clients, stakeholders, regulators, subcontractors and other internal disciplines as required
Essential
Relevant degree (minimum Level 8 in the National Framework of Qualifications or equivalent)
Two to five years' postgraduate experience
Good knowledge of junction modelling and interrogation, traffic signal plans and urban design
Comfortable processing and sense checking large datasets
Excellent report writing and interpersonal skills
Comfortable working in a busy environment with tight deadlines
Excellent attention to detail and quality outputs
Excellent IT skills, including MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Self-motivated, positive, assertive and focused
Fluency/high proficiency in spoken and written English
Desirable
MSc qualification
Experience using Geographical Information Systems (GIS)
A desire for delivery of environmentally sustainable solutions
