Principal Structural Design Engineer
Roughan & O'Donovan (ROD) is looking to recruit a principle structural design engineer with 10 to 15 years' experience for a permanent position within our expanding buildings team

You will join a buildings team recognised for delivering high quality, cost-effective and sustainable building projects across a range of sectors, including residential, healthcare, education and commercial.
We work with architects, developers, local authorities and property owners to develop robust, long-lasting building designs. Our buildings achieve the top certifications within sustainable design, including LEED and BREEAM.

Essential
Honours degree in structural/civil engineering (Level 8 in the National Framework of Qualifications or equivalent)
10-15 years’ relevant experience
Ability to manage several engineers and technicians to deliver large-scale building projects
Good commercial awareness
Ability to work in a team and/or independently
Strong interpersonal skills
Good written and oral communication skills
Good organisational skills
Experience of mentoring junior engineering staff in all aspects of design
Good understanding of ethical issues in engineering design, including safety
Chartered status with a recognised professional body
Full driving licence
Fluent/highly proficient in spoken and written English
Desirable
Structural design experience in accordance with the Eurocodes for concrete, steel, masonry, timber and foundations
Knowledge or experience of BIM, Revit or Robot
Knowledge of AutoCAD
Knowledge of building regulations and technical guidance documents
