Principal Bridge Engineers - Dublin and Leeds

Roughan & O’Donovan (ROD) is looking to recruit principal bridge engineers with 15+ years’ experience, primarily in the area of cable-stayed and moveable bridges, for our bridges team.


Job type: Permanent, with full-time, part-time or flexible working options 

Salary: Competitive

Location: Sandyford, D. 18, Woodford, D.17 or Otley, Leeds

Duties

  • Leading bridge teams in the design and construction / erection engineering of cable-stayed and moveable bridge projects in Ireland and the UK

  • Liaison with clients and contractors

  • Delivery of detailed design drawings and specifications and all other project outputs

Requirements

  • Minimum honours degree in bridge engineering (Level 8 in the National Framework of Qualifications or equivalent)

  • Minimum 15 years’ experience in bridge engineering on cable-stayed and/or moveable bridges

  • Chartered engineer

  • Ability to work within a dynamic and multidisciplinary team

  • Strong technical knowledge and engineering skills / knowledge of bridge engineering software (analysis and design)

  • Flexible, motivated and focused

  • Excellent attention to detail 

  • Ability to produce quality design outputs

  • Fluent or highly proficient in spoken and written English

Desirable

  • Working knowledge of Eurocodes in the field of bridge/structural design

  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills

  • Excellent report writing skills

  • Experience of working in a multidisciplinary environment with tight deadlines
