Bridge Design Engineers - Dublin and Leeds

Roughan & O’Donovan (ROD) is looking to recruit bridge design engineers with three to seven years’ experience, primarily in the area of cable-stayed and moveable bridges, for roles within our bridges team.


Job type: Permanent, with full-time, part-time or flexible working options available 

Location: Sandyford, D. 18, Woodford, D.17 or Otley, Leeds

Salary: Competitive

Duties

  • Design and provision of head office support and construction/erection engineering of cable-stayed and moveable bridge projects in Ireland and the UK

  • Delivery of detailed design drawings and specifications and all other project outputs

Requirements

  • Honours degree in civil/structural engineering (Level 8 in the National Framework of Qualifications or equivalent)

  • A minimum of three to seven years’ relevant experience 

  • Ability to work within a dynamic, multidisciplinary team

  • Flexible, motivated and focused

  • Strong technical knowledge and engineering skills proficiency  of bridge engineering software (analysis and design)

  • Working knowledge of Eurocodes in the field of bridge/structural design

  • Excellent attention to detail 

  • Ability to produce quality design outputs

  • Fluent or highly proficient in spoken and written English

Desirable

  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills

  • Excellent report writing skills

  • Experience of working in a multidisciplinary environment with tight deadlines

  • Chartered engineer or working towards chartered status with a recognised professional body
